Today we decided to take a drive to Mt Tamborine, which is in the Hinterland district 30km West of the Gold Coast. The views were quite magnificent, being able to see all the way down to the coast and the sky scrapers along the beach. |
We went for a walk in one of the National Parks down to Witches Falls. It was a 3.1km round trip and the scenery was very interesting with Cocos Palms and Staghorns in the trees. Liam thought it all looked very much like dinosaur country and was on the look out at all times. He really enjoyed the walk and all the different plants. The noises of the birds and rustling of animals made it all the more interesting for him. We even saw a couple of small animals scampering along the forrest floor and they look very much like dieneces (small dinosaurs) to us. |
Liam scampered along happily for most of the walk and Bruce only had to carry him the last 200m which is really quite good. A trip into North Tamborine for lunch and then a quiet drive back to our hotel made for a very pleasant day. We did stop of at Old Mac Donalds so Liam could have an icecream and a play on the play ground. We might be off the spa soon if Liam gets his way, though it is drizzling outside and a bit cold. |
