It was sad to hear today, Tuesday, 18th March, 2025, that Dave Benson lost his battle and passed away. It was a relatively sudden illness and diagnosis and we are sure that he would be happy that it didn’t drag on.
David was an ex-Primary school teacher who shifted to Margaret River in the mid 90’s with his wife Shelagh. They set up a small accommodation business in town and Dave immediately joined the golf club.
He was an active member of the Veterans golf group and a great asset whenever we needed a BBQ chef or a helping hand in the kitchen.
Dave was also an active member of the Wednesday morning bike group where they would often ride to Witchcliffe and have a coffee before crossing the road to McHenry Hohnen wines for a long tasting.
We will all raise our glass to Dave and have a toast to remember him by.
