Welcome to the Margaret River Veteran’s Golf website. You will find historical information about the golf club and up to date information of what is happening with the Men’s Veterans at MRGC.
This site is dedicated to the Margaret River Men’s Veterans. The first recorded game of the Mens Veteran’s was on 11th September 1984 with 9 starters.
To play in our competition you need to be over 55 years of age (younger visitors are welcome, but may not be able to win the competition). We play a 9 hole competition off the white and red tees on a Tuesday Morning. You need to book in before 7pm on the previous Monday and you will be randomly sorted into groups for the following day. In this way you will get to meet a wide variety of members and possibly make new friends.
You are asked to arrive by 9am on Tuesday and pay the competition fee of $5 at the proshop. We would like all competitors to then come into the clubhouse to tell the Captain of the day that you have arrived.
We have a $1 Wheel raffle that we would like as many as possible to go in to give us funds for BBQ’s and events.
Hit off is 9:15am. Presentations are usually completed by 12:15pm.
Many of us also participate in the Country Veterans Golf Association games which are played all over the South West. To be a member of the CVGA, you need to be over 55 years of age, have a Golf Link handicap and be a member of an associated club. Click on their link to find out more about this association. Membership of this association is applied for through our delegates, which are currently Bruce Darby and Merv McKillop.
