In July we took a couple of weeks long service leave and went on a holiday to Queensland and New South Wales. Liam really enjoyed most of the holiday but it was a little taxing at time. The major project for this year was to complete the beach house in Prevelly. We were very pleased with the way in which the house progressed especially since we took our first booking in July for the Xmas holidays. Everything kept to schedule and Bruce was flat out doing reticulation in the last week of November and beginning of December trying to keep one step ahead of Laurie Bedford who was doing the landscaping for us.

One the house was complete Bruce shifted in for a few days to protect the house from the Schoolies. Unfortunately they put grafitti on the outside wall on the first night, but the rest of the time was relatively quite and uneventful. In the second week, we all shifted in and tried out everything. The first effort in the spa taught us a valuable lesson, don't put too much bubble bath in.
The house has turned out exactly as planned and we can now finally relax and wait for the bookings to come rolling in. We have done well so far for the peak times but are yet to see how it pans out over a whole year. For Christmas this year we went up to Geraldton (700kms) to visit Rosie's family. We left on the 23rd and had tea with Bruce's parents in Mandurah before setting off to Geraldton. Unfortunately we got a bit lost at the end of the freeway in Joondallup and wasted 40 minutes getting onto the right road. We eventually got to Geraldton at 1am, but it was worth the effort of travelling at night. Liam slept the whole way and when we got up the next morning we were able to relax and do a few things with the family. |

Christmas saw Liam very excited. He put out a beer for Santa and carrots for the reindeer, just like he was told to do in Kindy. Liam always does everything that Melanie, his kindy teacher, tells him. She is a saint and I have the utmost respect for what she has done with Liam. |

As can be seen, Liam got a vast assortment of presents, some from Santa, some from Mum and Dad and an enormous water cannon from his silly Uncle Kim. We saved the cannon up for Mandurah and told him he could let loose at Kim and Karen.

Daen had already gone up to Geraldton a few days earlier and it was good to have him with us for Christmas. He seemed to really enjoy being with the family. He went out on his cousin Paul's cray boat earlier in the week and was very entertaining apparently, it was a pity they weren't fishing since he was providing a lot of burley. Nola's new house was fantastic and the decorations were beautiful. Liam loved them all and had a great time playing with all the grand kids toys. Unfortunately he didn't eat or drink for the time he was there and we had to take him into hospital on Christmas night to get some panadol into him and get some fluids into him. |

Nola and Johnny had a great time and we all went around to their son Paul's house for Christmas dinner. Lots of kids and family and a very pleasant time was had by all. ![]() The next morning we got up at 5:30am and drove up to Perth. This was a great idea since it was going to be a very hot day, yet we were in Mandurah by 11am and sitting with K&K having a drink. On Boxing Day evening we went out to Nero's for Mum's birthday and then back to Kim's to see the Christmas lights. A very pleasant day. |
Back to Margaret River the next day and we are now relaxing between cleans and starting to take a well deserved holiday. Three golf games in three days and I am finally starting to get a swing going.
