We started the holidays off by getting Rosco (our handyman) to finish Liam's play area by building a cubby onto of the slide stand. As usual, we went a little overboard but the insulation in the roof really keeps the lcubby quite cool in the afternoon when it is in full sun. Liam loves his little house and immediately went off to toy library and picked up a vacuum cleaner and a kitchen set. He put his bed and pillow up in the cubby and reckons he is set for life. We are thinking of renting it out in the peak season, it could be a getting back to nature package. To test out the whole play area we invited little Jazzy over, she loved it and they had a great time playing around. Bruce managed to stuff up most of his holidays by allowing himself to be crushed by a wave at the river mouth. It bruised all the muscles in his chest and he hasn't been able to do anything physical for the last 3 weeks of his holiday. We have organised to have the beach house demolished and are still looking at plans for a new house to build on the site. We have a plan we like but it came out $100000 more than we wanted to spend. We will keep looking at options. |

Bruce's Dad went into hospital recently to have his appendix out. It came on very suddenly and they rushed him up to Fremantle and they came out that night. We went up to visit Dad a couple of days later and he is doing well. At the same time, we took Liam to the museum where he got to see dinosaur bones and the whale skeleton. He thought they were fantastic, especially when the elevator door opened and all he could see was this enormous whale skeleton. We also took him for a ferry ride at South Perth and then on to the zoo. He like the zoo and spent 20 minutes looking at the enormous crocodile (ancestor of the dinosaurs). Liam had a very big day, but he loved it all. |
