The Rosie, Bruce, Daen and Liam (baby) Page

Daen receiving his Graduation Certificate from Dr Fiona Stanley and then standing with his proud Mother and Grand Mother.

It has been a busy time, as you would expect at the end of the year. Daen has completed High School and we went to his graduation ceremony at the end of November. Betty came down from Geraldton to see her grandson graduate and was very impressed by the whole ceremony. We know how to put on a good show in the South. Daen also has his drivers license now and has been doing several jobs around town to raise enough money to buy his car. He hasn't really made up his mind yet what he is going do this year, but we are hoping that he will get a full time job and work for a year before pursueing any further studies. hopefully he might get offered an apprenticeship during the year but he will need to proactive in trying to seek one out.

On 15th December Mum and Dad celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary and had a large party at Kim and Karen's house. All the relatives and their friends attended and it was really interesting to see this group of friends who were nearly all at the wedding, still sticking together after all these years

Rosie has been keen for quite some time to get a photo of the whole family and the party finally gave her the opportunity to achieve this goal. We even positioned ourselves so that Grandad Ferguson could get in on the act.

As you can see there are not a lot of girls in the family, the only ones present are the partners of us boys.

The bigger boys are now starting to compete height wise with their Dads, so we had to position ourselves in front of them.

Mum and Dad really loved their party, it started with them getting picked up in a Limosine and travelling in style with their youngest grand children.

All the people they love were at the party and you could see that they were really moved by the speeches. Kim organised a representive from each generation to give a speech, so you had Uncle Alan and Auntie Wilma speak on behalf of the families, then Kim gave a speech on behalf of us and then the speech that I enjoyed to most was given by Ben on behalf of the Grand Children. Ben alluded to all the little things that Mum and Dad do for the grand kids and clearly showed that they appreciated them.

After Mum and Dad's party we then started into the Christmas parties. Rosie first organised a party for 150 people for the Playgroup which went off very well with Bouncy Castles and rides. Father Christmas turned up and Liam wasn't too keen and had to be taken up to him. We then had another party for Toy Library which was followed by the staff party for my school. When Father Christmas turned up this time, Liam was ready and raring to go. He ran up and got on his knee and knew that this meant he would get a present. How quickly kids learn.

Liam had a wonderful Christmas and really enjoyed all the presents. He happily gave out the presents on Christmas day, stacking them all up at each persons feet and then when they were all given out he took great pleasure in unwrapping all his. All you could here from him was "Dinosaurs" since he got three presents containing them. His car wash was also very popular.

Our Studio guests gave Liam a cricket set which was really nice of them (they stayed with us last year for Christmas so they knew all about Liam). He keeps dragging us outside now to play ball with him. He continues to have very good hand-eye coordination and can hit both handed.

I got myself a new computer for Christmas and then borrowed a digital video camera and have had a bit of fun trying to put together a video of Liam's Christmas. Orders for the CD can be placed now, all popular credit cards are accepted.

If you are really keen you can view the video of Liam's Christmas. (This may not work since I am experimenting, if it does work then it will take a long time since it is 2-3 MB in size)

I took Liam to the beach again after Christmas and he finally was prepared to go into the water. He happily played with his ball in the shallows and then we put on his floaty and he went out into the deep section for a swim with me, which was great. Unfortunately the next time he would only play on the edge. He is now trying to swim at the pool and is prepared to put his head under water and try to swim to me from a metre away.

The holiday season is proving to be very busy with both the Cottage and the Studio booked out solidly for three weeks and then more bookings going on through February. We have a nice booking late in January that will give us the chance to take a break for a few days and have booked up the parents to do some babysitting while we indulge ourselves. Sounds good to us, hope the parents think it is a good idea.

Hope you have enjoyed reading our news and we wish you all a very happy New Year.
